The Supreme Court of India in write petition no ( C ) 656/1998 directed that the ragging in educational institutions should be prevented and appropriate measures should be taken by AICTE for prevention of ragging in technical education institutions.

According the council has published a circular in its website. Directing the technical institutions to ensure that the ragging doses not take place in their campuses in any form and that if such cases are reported to the council necessary action including with drawol of approval shall be taken.

The institution imparting technical education are advised to take necessary measures for prevention of ragging it any form in their parents and the general public are advised to report to the council. instances of ragging in any form in institutions imparting technical education for taking appropriate by the council
